Collibra helps SIGNAL IDUNA use data to improve customers' lives
SIGNAL IDUNA, a German insurer serving roughly 12 million customers and data-driven since 1907, struggled with departmentalized silos, unclear data ownership, and slow data discovery as it pursued a goal of "everyone in the company using AI and data to drive decision-making by 2030." It adopted the Collibra Data Intelligence Platform for cataloging, governance, quality, and security, becoming a strategic Google Cloud Platform partner in German insurance and building connectors spanning on-prem and cloud, with Data Lineage trials and Data Marketplace planned by 2025. The company expects time to access data to fall "dramatically from weeks to a few hours," alongside faster claims processing and customer payments and a centralized repository for data quality, ownership, and lineage.
Collibra is a data-governance and catalog platform used to keep data trustworthy, traceable and compliant enough to support an AI initiative.
This sits in the Design & Stress-Test stage of the AI use-case lifecycle: Named examples from the tools pharma teams use to scope, prototype and benchmark an AI use case before committing to build it — data-catalog, sandbox and evaluation platforms.
