Collibra improves customer engagement for European DIY retailer Kingfisher

Kingfisher, a European DIY retailer with 1,900+ stores and 25,000+ employees across eight countries, needed unified data governance to support AI/ML-driven customer experiences, but metadata was scattered across "100's of design spreadsheets." It built an in-house API to migrate that data into Collibra's Data Catalog and Data Lineage, integrated with Azure Data Platform (Databricks and Power BI integrations planned), and consolidated 40 siloed glossaries into one business glossary of over 4,000 KPIs, terms, and definitions now used by 750 analysts. It also worked with brand Brico Dépôt to build KPIs balancing corporate standards with local needs; Data Governance Manager Steve Taberner called Collibra "the shop window into our data offering and an easily consumable way for people to find the information they need."

Collibra is a data-governance and catalog platform used to keep data trustworthy, traceable and compliant enough to support an AI initiative.

This sits in the Design & Stress-Test stage of the AI use-case lifecycle: Named examples from the tools pharma teams use to scope, prototype and benchmark an AI use case before committing to build it — data-catalog, sandbox and evaluation platforms.
