New Billing System Improves Financial Performance
Radiology Associates of Nevada (RAN) wanted to improve collections, cut claim denials and strengthen analytics, while managing the risk of switching billing vendors. Optum worked with the prior vendor to design a low-disruption transition, completing the changeover in 4 months "with virtually no cash drop." Over the following 6 months, RAN saw a "6%" charge increase, a "13%" payment increase, and a "47%" bad debt reduction, meeting its goals for improved collections and reduced financial losses.
Optum is UnitedHealth Group's data and analytics arm, with one of the largest raw claims and EHR-derived real-world-data footprints of any vendor in this directory.
This sits in the Data Providers stage of the AI use-case lifecycle: Named examples from the real-world-data, claims and competitive-intelligence providers pharma AI systems are trained on, benchmarked against, or run inside of.
