Customer Spotlight: The Ottawa Hospital | MDClone
The Ottawa Hospital, serving 1.3 million people across 1,335 beds, had centralized data-request processes but still faced long waits; Director of Analytics Deanna Rothwell said stakeholders "have to wait because of our queue, because of calendars, because of ethics and privacy processes," with complex requests taking months. In February 2020 it became Canada's first MDClone partner, deploying the ADAMS platform for self-service exploration of privacy-preserving synthetic data. Within six months, over 200 users had engaged with the platform, and by early 2021 more than 10 real-world use cases were active - including elective-surgery outcomes and pre-operative anemia analysis - freeing the central data team and identifying opportunities to reduce length of stay and readmissions.
MDClone is a healthcare synthetic-data platform that converts real EHR data into privacy-safe synthetic datasets for self-service research and analytics.
