Absci and Almirall set up a collaboration to design AI-made antibodies against two dermatology targets.
Almirall, a medical dermatology company, wanted new treatments for chronic dermatological diseases with high unmet need. Absci applies its Integrated Drug Creation platform to de novo AI-designed antibody candidates for two targets. The release says Absci can go from AI-designed antibodies to wet-lab-validated candidates in as little as six weeks, and Absci is eligible for up to about $650 million in upfront, R&D and post-approval milestone payments across both programs.
Absci is a generative AI drug creation company that designs antibodies de novo and partners with pharma such as AstraZeneca and Almirall.
This sits in the Build stage of the AI use-case lifecycle: Named examples from the foundation-model labs and platforms pharma teams use to actually construct, train and generate the model or application.
