Real-world evidence on cenobamate monotherapy in epilepsy
A retrospective analysis using HealthVerity Marketplace's Private Source 20 database looked at 299 adults with epilepsy (64.9% female, average age 39) who started cenobamate monotherapy between May 2020 and December 2022, each requiring at least 2 fills and 180 days of continuous enrollment before/after. Compared to prior therapy, average inpatient days per year fell from 3.22 to 0.7, ER visits per year fell from 0.83 to 0.27, and status epilepticus rates dropped from 0.13 to 0.03 per year; 44% of patients had no inpatient stay, ER visit, or new therapy while on cenobamate monotherapy.
