East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust Leverages TriNetX to Automate Research Capabilities and Optimize Clinical Trial Patient Recruitment
East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust (ELHT), serving over 700,000 patients annually across five hospitals, relied on manual, disjointed research processes based on staff intuition rather than data-backed patient estimates. It implemented the TriNetX LIVE Research platform to automate feasibility assessments and patient recruitment. Since implementation, ELHT doubled its research team size within two years and received 50+ commercial clinical trial opportunities via TriNetX since 2021, with sponsor response times sped up through data-driven patient counts instead of manual case-note review. A quoted staff member said: "The TriNetX platform has provided us a lot of efficiency savings as a site... TriNetX has trimmed that time down and made things much more refined."
TriNetX is a federated real-world-data network where data stays behind each health system's firewall and is queried in place, used for cohort discovery and trial-site feasibility.
This sits in the Data Providers stage of the AI use-case lifecycle: Named examples from the real-world-data, claims and competitive-intelligence providers pharma AI systems are trained on, benchmarked against, or run inside of.
